Planters are effective ways of making an area seem much more inviting.
Adding flowers or vegetation to a communal or commercial setting, most would agree, gives comfort, warmth and colour to the environment. In many cases, however, the only way to effectively do this is by using large planters. Fortunately, we have a choice of decorative plant containers that are suited to a wide range of environments.
A large planter is ideal for an area where a flower bed cannot be provided. One does not have to plant flowers or trees in the ground to bring the gift of nature to even the most challenging spaces.
URBAN PLANTERS
Designers for urban business campuses, shopping centres, industrial complexes, and other larger businesses often strategically choose plants, flowers, trees and shrubs to decorate. Often, both the exterior and interior of buildings are dressed up with plants of some kind. For these kinds of places huge pots, containers, and boxes are a great solution for many planting needs.
LARGE WOODEN PLANTERS
Large wooden planters tend to be every bit as attractive as the plants themselves. We have two classic wooden planters that can be provided in either a square or rectangular shape, the Beaufort and the Kara. They can complement several of the urban seats and benches that we provide, with the same style of long lasting, non-warping, durable wooden slats as their most prominent feature. They are constructed in a robust fashion, with galvanised steel sections inside the planters adding to the strength of the planters.
The wooden planters are lined with a woven textile that is self draining, thus allowing excess water to drain away. They can either be stained regularly, or left to weather naturally.
Particularly attractive is our Heathland hexagonal wooden planter. This uses heavy duty galvanised steel supports on each corner with a black powder coating. Each support has an adjustable foot to allow for any unevenness in the ground surface.
It comes in a variety of heights and sizes and can usefully be combined with the hexagonal tree bench to enable a particularly good looking seating arrangement around this planter.
CONCRETE PLANTERS
Our hexagonal concrete planters look very stylish with their horizontal banding. They are increasingly used as an attractive alternative to bollards in traffic control and traffic calming schemes. The concrete planters are made from reinforced precast concrete and finished in an exposed aggregate. |
