Picnic tables can be used by families or individuals and provide a convenient space to eat, study or work.
We offer picnic tables in three different styles. The tops of the picnic tables and the seats are made with heavy duty hardwood or pressure treated softwood and the supports come in a choice of concrete, steel or hardwood. All of the materials used are chosen for their long lasting, hard wearing characteristics that make them ideally suited for use in public areas. Whatever your location, be it a small office courtyard, a large country park or a school playground there is a picnic table to suit you.
PICNIC BENCHES
Picnic benches, either side of a rectangular picnic table, are the most common and effective way that these are arranged. Picnic tables for pubs, schools and visitor attractions are traditionally made from wood throughout. Whereas parks and open spaces usually use concrete to support both the benches and table. And metal (galvanised steel) is ideal to act as the base for school picnic tables and benches.
They can be found in parks, community centres, employee cafeterias, schools, tourist attractions, other open areas and pubs. For commercial uses our tough hardwearing picnic benches give a good impression to client’s customers. They will notice the quality in the picnic tables we have available.
Because of the picnic bench seating arrangement, the numbers that can be seated at each bench are more flexible. Seating up to 8 adults or even 10 where wheelchair users are accommodated at the ends on each picnic bench. This is particularly useful for areas where number can fluctuate significantly.
PUB BENCHES
Pub benches are a good example. Better to provide the more flexible seating provided by a picnic table than chairs which may fill up too quickly and lead to customers being turned away. It is not just for sunny weekends in the summer, either. With the smoking ban, many smoking customers appreciate the provision of pub picnic tables and benches.
The hardwoods used in our tables are low maintenance. If you choose not to provide a preservative they will still wear well, turning a silver grey colour over time. A simple wash down when necessary is all that is needed. Alternatively a wood stain or preservative treatment can be applied, ensuring the retention of a similar colour to the original. The stain or treatment would then need to be applied every 2 or 3 years.
Picnic tables often bring back fond memories to us. A shared meal with family or close friends seems more intimate than when everyone sits on separate chairs, eating off their laps. Communal food bowls of salads, meats or vegetables can be shared by everyone at the table. Good for playing board games or used as an outdoor classroom table, a picnic table is a versatile piece of furniture that fits well into numerous environments. |
